A while ago, I was turned to a YouTube channel called Majestic Casual, which showcases a lot of non-mainstream electronic music from up and coming artists. I enjoyed a lot of the music, but I also found the pictures that they used as covers for the videos to be pretty interesting as well, when they used ones involving women. I started referring to this as the “Majestic Casual” look, which is basically casual hipster wear with a “vintage” film look.

I put out a casting call with that concept in mind and found Sara, who I thought could pull off the look well. Unfortunately, she recently moved to Santa Monica for school and didn’t have a car. I didn’t want her to Uber down here as it would be insanely expensive, so I ended up having to drive up there, back down, shoot, then drive her back up, and head back home. If you don’t know, L.A. traffic gets INSANE.

However, it wasn’t all bad as Sara made for great conversation and was an interesting character. After the shoot we grabbed some food and headed to Wal-Mart so she could get some stuff for her apartment. She opened the door to my car to get out, but then immediately closed it with a look of fear in her eyes. I asked her what was up, and she thinks she just flashed someone the goods (she was wearing a skirt and no underwear.. which I don’t get because she had some on for the shoot). I told her she probably made that guy’s day, and her response was that she should get paid for that, which cracked me up.
